Who we are

Tourism and leisure marine content marketing writer Helen Iatrou and photographer Carlo Raciti produce inspiring travel, lifestyle, marine and sailing content for leading travel and lifestyle industry brands, forward-looking organisations, tourism organisations, DMOs and digital, PR and content marketing agencies. They specialise in content for the tourism industry and fast-growing leisure marine sector.

Helen and Carlo provide content marketing services including website copy, content for digital and print, blog posts, articles, profiles, copy editing, photography, proofreading, ghostwritten copy, newsletters, email copy and social media content.
They work with companies of all sizes, from SMEs to industry giants.
Current clients include Marriott International, The Luxury Collection resorts, Design Hotels properties, the European Commission, Contently and Intrasoft. We have also created content for Holiday Hypermarket (UK) and tourism marketing organisation Marketing Greece (www.discovergreece.com).

A native English speaker and fluent in Greek, Helen possesses insider expertise on Greek destinations and experiences and is one of very few experienced travel, lifestyle and sailing writers who live and work in Greece year-round. In a relatively small market such as Greece, contacts, local intelligence, experience and expertise count for a lot.

Separately, Helen and Carlo contribute travel news and features to National Geographic Travel, The Telegraph and The National (UAE), among others. Their editorial work covers travel destinations, sailing, yachting, lifestyle, culture, personalities, food, environmental and wildlife conservation, sustainable travel, fitness, adventure and wellness. We create well-researched, tightly-written, image-led news stories and features.

An eagle-eyed wordsmith, Helen possesses more than 25 years of media experience at all editorial levels – from writer to copy editor through to managing editor. In the past, she has worked for news media outlets including Reuters and written on a freelance basis for newspapers such as The Times (UK) and The Sunday Times (UK), tourism news websites like Travel Daily News International, lifestyle and business publications, websites and travel guides such as Bradman’s Business Guide, Eyewitness Guides and AA Publishing.

Armed with sharp marketing and media relations skills honed since 2003 in the public sector and tourism industry, she has extensive experience in travel content writing and editing, tourism marketing and social media.

A native Italian speaker and fluent in English, Carlo’s photography career spans more than 25 years. He has shot fashion, lifestyle, travel, landscape, portraiture and animal images for digital and print news media, business, news and lifestyle magazines in the UK, the US, Italy and Greece, including Harper’s Bazaar, Newsweek and Kathimerini. Who are we?

Carlo was born in Khartoum and raised and educated in Rome. Helen was born, raised and educated in Melbourne and also spent a decade living in Brisbane.

They both found themselves in Greece, and eventually stumbled upon one another. Carlo and Helen worked separately for a number of years, before realising that they need to be combining their skills and doing what they love, namely creating quality travel, lifestyle and sailing content.

Helen and Carlo are based in Athens, when they’re not travelling in search of a great story. They spend weekdays creating inspiring travel and sailing content and as much as possible of their free time sailing. The truth is that their veins pulse with sea water and souls feel complete when casting across the Big Blue. Hey, their backyard consists of the Greek islands, so they’re a little spoiled.

In their minds, the best way to explore the hundreds of islands that make up the Aegean archipelago is sailing. So, having grown up on the coasts of Italy, Australia and Sudan, where they swam, snorkelled, dived, water-skied, body-boarded, sailed and motored, they have a dream. A dream to buy their own yacht and spend as many waking hours as possible sailing in Greece but also around the world.
